Teo Salgado, principal of global educational consultancy VerveSmith, today announced the appointment of Selva Akinci as Senior Regional Consultant in Turkey. In this newly created role, Akinci will be responsible for engaging prospective families as well as enhancing service delivery to maximize client satisfaction. A Fulbright Scholar at the University of Massachusetts – Amherst, Akinci brings more than 30 years of experience in a diverse range of roles with leading global brands, including considerable experience in client relationship management at Citi and ABN AMRO.
The appointment signals VerveSmith’s continued commitment to delivering international families the same exceptional service experience that clients in North America have come to expect.
Turkey’s intensely competitive university entrance examinations has led many students to consider international secondary and post-secondary options. “Students from Turkey find it exciting and motivating to go abroad to study at leading international universities. However, the process can be quite stressful, considering the fact that admission is very competitive and a lot rides on how the student’s file is presented,” notes Akinci.
The announcement comes after a year of significant growth in international clients. “It is perfect timing to add Selva’s understanding of the Turkish market and management expertise,” says Salgado. “Over the past year we have refined our educational consulting delivery processes and are now poised for further international growth.”
Akinci is excited to help students and their families find schools and universities that match. “University options are endless, so it is especially important to have expert insight for a good match. The application process is non-reversible, allowing no room for mistakes,” she adds.
